Abstract
This study aims to determine the meaning of the economic valuation of the gold mining processing industry in Rante Balla Village from an environmental accounting perspective to the external company (community). This research is a qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. The informants in this study were the people of Rante Balla Village. Data collection techniques used in this study were observation and interviews. The results of the research from interviews conducted are 1) The meaning of the economic valuation of the gold mining processing industry on the people of Rante Balla Village as measured by the economic and social benefits or impacts felt by the community. The benefits or economic impacts felt by the community are the opening of employment opportunities for the community so that they can work as company employees, increasing community income, easy and fast road access so that they can be passed by motorbike and car, while the perceived social impact is the existence of giving donations that are always given to underprivileged communities and places of worship. 2) The environmental impacts caused by the gold mining processing industry activities felt by the people of Rante Balla Village are river pollution, air pollution that can interfere with health, and landslides that occur when the rainy season arrives. 3) From an environmental accounting perspective, it is not known for sure how the company is responsible for the village community in the event of environmental damage or environmental impacts arising from their gold mining activities, as well as the environmental costs that the company is willing to pay as compensation for the reduced environmental quality. .
