Abstract

This study aimed to determine whether role-play activities affect the aspect of children's social-emotional development in Group B at Opu Dg Risaju Kindergarten of Palopo. The research design was a one group pretest-posttest design. The subject of this study was 18 children of Group B at Opu Dg Risaju Kindergarten of Palopo. The data collection procedure in this study went through several stages, namely planning, pre-test/initial test, post-test/final test and data analysis. The results show that there is a significant difference in the scores obtained by children in the pretest and posttest classes in aspect of children's social-emotional development. The average value of the pretest results only reached 35.75. While the average value of the posttest results reached 67.5. This indicates that role play activities can improve children's social emotional development. In addition, this is also supported by statistical analysis which states that the tcount is 14.69 and the ttable value is 1.740. Because the value of tcount < table value (14.69 > 1.740) so it can be said that role play activities affect aspect of children's social-emotional development in group B at Opu Dg Risaju Kindergarten of Palopo.
