Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the effect of capital, labor, land area, herbicides and fertilizers on oil palm production in Radda Village, North Luwu Regency. The data used are primary and secondary data by collecting quantitative data. The sample of this study were 45 oil palm farmers in Radda Village, North Luwu Regency. The data collection method used in this study was an interview (questionnaire and documentation). The results showed that on average respondents gave low responses to capital, labor, herbicides and fertilizers, except for land area, the average respondents gave moderate responses. Capital and land area have a positive and significant effect on oil palm production in Radda Village, North Luwu Regency because the significance value is 0.046 < 0.05 or the statistical T value is 1.996 > 1.980, the significance value is 0.000 < 0.05 or the statistical T value is 4.534 > 1.980 . Meanwhile, labor, herbicides and fertilizers have a positive and insignificant effect on oil palm production in Radda Village, North Luwu Regency because the significance value is 0.170 > 0.05 or the statistical T value is 1.375 < 1.980, the significance value is 0.859 > 0.05 or the T value is the statistic is 0.178 < 1.980. the significance value is 0.112 > 0.05 or the statistical T value is 1.590 < 1.980. The conclusions of this study are (1) Capital has a positive and significant effect on oil palm production, (2) Labor has a positive and insignificant effect on oil palm production, (3) Land area has a positive and significant effect on oil palm production, (4) Herbicides positive and insignificant effect on oil palm production, (5) Fertilizer has a positive and insignificant effect on oil palm production, so it is recommended that the amount of costs incurred in procuring oil palm seeds, costs incurred for renting people to harvest oil palm, is measured by land arable which is arranged in the form of a profile, the amount of costs incurred for the use of herbicide and fertilizer packaging, so that they are continuously maintained, considered and maximized in increasing oil palm production in Radda Village, North Luwu Regency.
