Abstract

ABSTRACT The problem in this study is formulated’how is the development of children's fine motor skills through meronce activities at Bina Kasih Seriti Kindergarten, Lamasi Timur District, Luwu Regency. Based on this problem , this study aims to describe the improvement of children's fine motor skills through meronce activities at Bina Kasih Seriti Kindergarten, East Lamasi District, Luwu Regency. The design of study is classroom action research. The subjects of this study were 15 children. Data collection techniques are observation and documentation. The data analysis technique used is qualitative descriptive and quantitative descriptive analysis. The results of study showed that meronce activities improve children's fine motor skills. In The first condition, the were seven children (46.67%) categorized as undeveloped, five children (46.67%) as developing category, and three children (20%) categorized developed as expected. After the action and treatment using meronce activities had been taken in cycle I, the results of study showed improvemend on students’ fine motor skills. It showed no children in the underdeveloped category, three children (20%) on the developing category, five children (33.33%) on the developing as expected category and seven children (46.67%) on the very well developed category. In the second cycle,the result showed no children categorized on the undeveloped category and on starting to develop category, six children (40%) on the developing as expected category and nine children (60%) on the very well developed category. This research was then stopped at the end of cycle II as the result has met the success indicators. KeyWords : meronce, fine motor skills
