Abstract
An accountant is governed by a code of ethics. However, in reality there are still many accountants who still carry out their activities without heeding the code of ethics. This research was conducted with the aim of finding out the influence of love of money and idealism on accounting students' ethical perceptions. The population in this study were students majoring in Accounting semester 4 to 7 who had taken business and professional ethics courses. The number of questionnaires processed in this research was 100 respondents. To test the hypothesis, researchers used structural equation modeling (SEM). The results of this research show that love of money has a positive effect on idealism, and idealism has an effect on ethical perceptions, while love of moneyhas no effect on ethical perceptions. It is hoped that this research can increase awareness about ethics among students, especially accounting majors, so that unethical behavior and breaking the rules can be overcome.
