Abstract

This study aims to describe the efforts in improving the ability to recognize colors at the age of 4-5 years in coloring activities at Ar-Rahman Kindergarten, Sangtandung Village, Walenrang Utara District, Luwu Regency. The research was conducted using classroom action research (PTK) with the observation method. Data obtained from observations in this study used an instrument in the form of a check list. In the research instrument the check list uses BB, MB, BSH, BSB. Presentation of data were analyzed in tabular form taken from school data. From the results of observations in cycle I in the implementation of learning activities, there were 52% activities grouping objects according to color and 64%, in the activity of pointing at objects that had colors and 46% in telling what happens when colors are mixed, 57% in activities sorting objects from small to large based on color. The improvement in the ability to recognize colors at Ar-Rahman Kindergarten, Sangtandung Village improving significantly in the second cycle, 100% in grouping objects according to color, 100% in pointing objects that have a color, 96% in telling what happens when colors are mixed and , and 98% in the activity of sorting objects from small to large by color.
