Abstract
This study aims to: (1) determine the effect of the compensation system on the performance of PAM Tirta Mangkaluku employees, Palopo City, (2) determine the effect of work stress on the performance of PAM Tirta Mangkaluku employees, Palopo City, (3) determine the effect of the compensation system and work stress simultaneously on the performance of PAM Tirta Mangkaluku employees, Palopo City. The population selected in the study were all employees at PAM Tirta Mangkaluku, Palopo City, as many as 322 people, researchers took a sample of 76 people, using purposive sampling technique. The data analysis method used is multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that the compensation system had a significant and positive effect on the performance of PAM Tirta Mangkaluku employees, Palopo City. Job stress has a significant and negative effect on the performance of PAM Tirta Mangkaluku employees, Palopo City. The compensation system and work stress together have a significant effect on the performance variables of PAM Tirta Mangkaluku employees, Palopo City.
