Abstract
ABSTRACT The aimed of this study were: 1) to determine whether there was an effect of leg explosive power on the squat style long jump ability of the students of SMPN 8 Palopo. 2) tofind out whether there was an effect of leg length on the long jump ability of the squat style in SMPN 8 Palopo students. 3) tofind out whether there was an effect of speed on the long jump ability of the squat style in SMPN 8 Palopo students. 4) tofind out whether there was an effect of leg explosive power, leg length, speed on the longjump ability of the squat style of SMPN 8 Palopo students. The research method used was descriptive research with the independent variables were leg explosive power, leg length, speed and the dependent variable was longjump ability. The population was students of class VIII 1 and VIII 6 SMPN 8 Palopo. The research sample was I 2 students. The data analysis technique used the SPSS application program . The results of this study show that: 1) there is a significant effect of leg explosive power on the squat style longjump ability in students of SMPN 8 Palopo by 85.5%. 2) there is a significant effect of leg length on the longjump ability of the squat style at SMPN 8 Pa/opo by 72.8%. 3) there is a significant effect of speed on the longjump ability of the squat style in SMPN 8 Palopo students by 89.3%. 4) there is a significant effect of leg explosive power, leg length and speed together on the squat style longjump ability in students of SMPN 8 Palopo by 96.1%.
