Abstract

ABSTRACT This study is motivated by the importance of proper personal financial management among students, which is influenced by internal factors such as self-control and Islamic financial literacy. This study aims to determine the effect of self-control and Islamic financial literacy on the personal financial management of students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Palopo. The research method used is a quantitative approach with data collection techniques through questionnaires. The sample in this study consisted of 198 respondents selected using purposive sampling technique. Data analysis was carried out using multiple linear regression with the help of SPSS. The results show that partially, self-control and Islamic financial literacy have a positive and significant effect on personal financial management. Simultaneously, both variables also have a significant effect on personal financial management with an Adjusted R Square value of 0.588. This indicates that 58.8% of the variation in personal financial management can be explained by self-control and Islamic financial literacy, while the rest is influenced by other variables outside the study.
