Abstract

This study discusses about students’ self-confidence and the influence of social guidance on student self-confidence in SLTP Negeri 2 Lamasi. This study was conducted using experimental research. Experimental research is a systematic quantitative method. This study used quasi-experimental design. In this study, social guidance service activities with the aim of increasing students’ confidence were carried out during 5 meetings, before researchers gave first treatment researcher distributed pretest questionnaires to get samples of student who had low self confidence, thenresearcher gavetreatment and ended with posttest. Posttest is counducted with theaim of knowing wheter the influence of social guidance on students’ self confidence after being given social guidance services. Posttest results showed an increase in the score from lowpretest to increase in posttest. This indicates that after students follow social guidance students experience increased confidence. In addition, hypothetical test are carried out using t-tests and wilcoxon test. It means there is a significant difference between students’ self confidence score before and after being given social gidance. Changes in students’ self confidence that were originally in the low criteria and medium criteria are being high after treatment. Keywords: Social Guidance, Self Confidence
