Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the function of the role of savings and loan cooperatives and sharia financing (KSPPS) BMT Muktitama, Masamba sub-district in the development of small and micro businesses and the obstacles that inhibit small and micro businesses in developing businesses. This research is a field research using a qualitative descriptive approach. The data used in this study are primary data and secondary data. Informants in the study were from the management there were 2 members of BMT Muktitama. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that BMT Muktitama in Masamba sub-district has tried as much as possible to play a role in the development of small and micro businesses by providing financing to small and micro business actors. And the obstacles for small and micro business actors in developing their business are not taking advantage of market potential well, lack of human resources, maintaining quality of goods, consumer confidence, not knowing business opportunities, not maximizing existing technology, and the proliferation of retail franchises such as Indomaret and Alfamart and the most impactful obstacle, namely the Covid-19 pandemic which forced small and micro business actors to stop their business.
