Abstract

ABSTRACT Thedevelopmentoftechnologyhasfacilitatedaccesstoinvestmentinformation;however,publicinterestandparticipationininvestment,particularlygoldinvestment,remainrelativelylow.Purpose:Thisstudyaimstoanalysetheinfluenceofinvestmentknowledge,income,riskperception,andgoldpricefluctuationongoldinvestmentinterestamongGenerationZ,withtrustasamoderatingvariable.Methodology:Thisstudyemploysaquantitativeapproach.ThepopulationconsistsofGenerationZindividualsinNorthLuwuRegency.Thesamplingtechniqueusesnon-probabilitysamplingwithpurposivesampling,andrespondentswereselectedusingaccidentalsampling,resultingin247respondents.DatawereanalysedusingSmartPLSwiththeStructuralEquationModelling(SEM)approachbasedonPartialLeastSquares(PLS).Results:Theresultsindicatethatinvestmentknowledgehasapositiveandsignificanteffectongoldinvestmentinterest.Meanwhile,income,riskperception,andgoldpricefluctuationdonothaveasignificanteffect.Inthemoderationtest,trustdoesnotmoderatetherelationshipbetweeninvestmentknowledgeandinvestmentinterestbutsignificantlymoderatestherelationshipbetweenincomeandinvestmentinterest.Findings:ThisstudyrevealsthatinvestmentknowledgeisthemostdominantfactorinfluencinggoldinvestmentinterestamongGenerationZ.Additionally,trustplaysanimportantroleinstrengtheningtherelationshipbetweenincomeandinvestmentinterest.Novelty:Thenoveltyofthisresearchliesintheinclusionoftrustasamoderatingvariableintherelationshipbetweeneconomicandpsychologicalfactorsandinvestmentinterest.Originality:ThisstudyintegrateseconomicandpsychologicalfactorsbyincorporatingtrustasamoderatingvariableinGenerationZ’sgoldinvestmentbehaviour.Conclusion:Investmentknowledgeisthemainfactorinfluencinggoldinvestmentinterest,whiletruststrengthenstheeffectofincomeoninvestmentinterest.TypeofPaper:Empiricalresearchpaper.
