Abstract

This research is designed to answer the challenges of Guidance and Counseling teachers in providing services during the covid-19 pandemic that is sweeping the world with the help of client-centered counseling services ¬with spiritual motivation techniques. This research can contribute directly to prevention and psychological healing efforts towards students with deviations in the concept of self in schools in the midst of the covid-19 pandemic. The purpose of this study is: 1). To find out the description of the students self-concept in MTs. Batusitanduk, 2). To find out the process of client-centered counseling with spiritual motivation techniques changes the students negatif self-concept, 3). To find out the impact of using client-centered counseling with spiritual motivation techniques changes the students self-concept. This research was conducted in Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) Batusitanduk located on Jl. Poros Palopo-Masamba, South Sulawesi for 3 months. In this study, data sources were processed from 3 students with low positive self-concept that has been determined based on the results of previous observations as the primary data source. The secondary data source in this study was a 3-person homeroom teacher. This research method uses qualitative research with phenomenological approach using descriptive research type that directly plunges into informant to describe the phenomenon raised with scientific explanations conducted online and offline. The results showed a change in informants with negative self-concept into positive self that gave birth to students more Islamic character based on the results of semi-structured interviews, observations, documentation and literature studies.
