Abstract

The study aimed to find out whether there was an effect of box jump training on volleyball smash skills of volleyball club athletes at University of Muhammadiyah Palopo. This research was an experimental research. There was one independent variable and one dependent variable. The population in this study were all 20 volleyball athletes at University of Muhammadiyah Palopo volleyball club. A sample of 14 people was taken by purposive sampling. Based on the results of the data analysis, it can be concluded that the club athletes experienced an increase in the volleyball smash technique after being given treatment through the process of implementing box jump exercises. The average value increase at 219.57. The Vertical Jump posttest obtained an average value average 281.00. Pretest smash accuracy obtained an average value of 11.79. Posttest smash accuracy obtained an average value of 14.71. It can be concluded that there is a significant effect of box jump training on volleyball smash skills of volleyball athletes at University of Muhammadiyah Palopo.
